Rice Pudding

6 tbspoons rice
4oz sugar
2 pints milk
cinnamon or nutmeg
Knob of butter

Put all ingredients in an oven proof dish/tin and sprinkle top with chosen spice.
Bake in a vrey hot oven, 230c/gas mark8, for 15 mins until a skin is formed. Lower temp to a cool 140c/gas mark1 for a further hour, till the rice is soft. Enjoy!

    The saying goes that Nanas place it best by far because she gives hugs and has a cookie jar. My Nana was a wonderful cook but her go to recipe was rice pudding, She said it cured all of lifes ills,. Eating it cold was a cure for love! I can still hear he saying that. It was served regularly when I went to live, in manchester, with her for 2 years, to attend college at the age of 16.
